Using the MySQL Database server

Some Information System courses require students to use a SQL Database server. MySQL is installed on indianatech2 and can be used through a remote Secure Shell (SSH) program. Your instructor will tell you if you have a MySQL account and what is your password. To log into your MySQL account you will need to:

  1. Log into your student account using PuTTY (PC) or Terminal (Mac). See the Student Accounts page for more information.
  2. From the command line, type mysql -p at the prompt, as shown below with the red arrow.
  3. You will then be prompted to enter your mysql password.
